Manual de autoconstrucción en el bahareque, aplicado al diseño de una vivienda tipo en el sector rural de Apuela

Abstract

This final degree project is focused on the elaboration of a self-construction manual in bahareque, applied to the design of a typical house, in the rural sector of Apuela, belonging to the Cotacachi canton, in the province of Imbabura. The investigation is carried out based on the risks that currently exist for self-construction without any planning or technical advice, an analysis is made of the existing constructions in the sector, to determine in what conditions they were elaborated, if they comply with the respective regulations and what is the main reason that leads them to self-construction. By obtaining this information, it is determined that the main point of this problem is the economic factor and the lack of information about the problems they may have when building their own homes without any technical guidance. Strategies are proposed so that this manual is not only useful for the sector but also at the Sierra Region level [that have the same warm-humid climate,] in this way to be able to improve the structural and functional state of their homes as well as the quality of life of its inhabitants. Two proposals are presented; the elaboration of a self-construction manual in bahareque, expressed in a graphic way, so that it is easily understood by people, where principles and strategies are established that allow planning the self-construction of their homes and, in this way, not are exposed to future risks. The architectural design of a typical house with its respective norms is also proposed, where the way of life of its inhabitants is shown based on the investigation that was carried out on how they live daily.
