El manejo de residuos y desechos sólidos y el derecho al medio ambiente sano en el cantón Cotacachi

Abstract

For some time now, the issue of rubbish has been a controversial topic in the 21st century, being a problem of a social nature for the population in general. The main objective of this research project is to determine the correct solid waste management plan in accordance with the municipal ordinance of the canton of Cotacachi, which refers to the management of solid waste in the canton of Cotacachi, taking into account the right to live well (Sumak Kawsay), We must consider that society has been having activities, whether in community, collective or individual, which has been indicated in the subject of rubbish or also known as solid waste, hence recognised in the same way as urban solid waste. In this way, the research was based on documentary review techniques that allowed us to know the Ecuadorian regulations that deal with the right to live well and a healthy environment. Therefore, the present work was carried out from a socio-legal study, that is to say, from the point of view of solid waste and how to treat it, as it complicates the moment of providing adequate treatment and leads to its origin and decomposition. Thus, despite the call to the conscience of the population to contribute to development and improvement, interviews were carried out with technical professionals in environmental matters, reaching the conclusion that the correct management plan for solid waste still needs to be improved without violating the right to live in a healthy environment.
