Abstract: The elbow joint is the union bridge between the movements made by the forearm and the arm, this allows to perform multiple activities that includes flexion and extension movements, where practically there is no activity that involves a body that does not use this. Before this, it implies a quality life of decrement when the human body suffers dislocations, sicknesses, road accidents or by sports that can culminate or it can be treated with a surgical intervention and in most of the cases it requires an elbow rehabilitation. In the year 2017, Ecuador registered 11,678 people with some type of trauma in their elbows and forearms. Although there are devices available in the national market distributed by comercial houses, all are import products with high purchases and maintenance costs. This investigation presents a conceptual design of a dinamic elbow rehabilitator (motor input given by the user), with restrictions associated to the use of simple geometry, available material in the zone and of low cost, that contributes with the progressive rehabilitation without medical supervision. For this, its proposed a process of design where it presents alternative mecanisms and forms to select the most adequate according to the plant requirements. Later, using CAD-CAE programs that does valid numerical simulations to define an elbow rehabilitator with a degree of freedom, able to support maxium loads given by the pacient without permanently deforming. The obtained results, shows that it can be materialized by a design that can do a cinematic analysis and material resistence using CAD-CAE programs that sirves to define totally the geometry and materials of the device in base of a mecanism, in which it allows movements of flex-extension of 117 a 180 that corresponds to the elbow rehabilitation phase.
